Terms and Conditions

While customers can request a certain room we cannot promise it will be available.

We reserve the right to accommodate you in any of our rooms.

The Booking/Payment and Cancellation policy apply to bookings made direct with The Captain’s Quarters by phone or email.



If you are booking with Booking.com, please refer to their terms and conditions.

If you are booking directly with us, a non-refundable deposit of the first night’s stay is payable at the time of booking. The remainder of the stay will be charged 7 days prior to arrival. If payment is not received, we have the right to terminate your booking with no refund of deposit. We accept most major credit/debit cards including American Express.

If you have booked directly with us, a non-refundable deposit of the first night’s stay is charged in the event of a cancellation. Accommodation cancelled less than 7 days prior to the arrival date will be charged for in full, if we are unable to re-sell the room.



Check-in: 3pm- 9pm

Breakfast is served from 7.30am-9am in the comfort of your room or in our dining area.

Check-out: Up to 11am on morning of departure.



Please note the décor and furnishing is subject to change.


Bed & Breakfast

We refresh your room daily. We will re-stock the tea tray, make your bed, tidy your towels empty the bins, and clean the shower, toilet and sink. If you have a fireplace in your room we will clean the fire out and relay it.


Alcoholic Beverages

Guests are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages onto the premises for responsible consumption in bedrooms. However, any disturbance to other residents caused through alcohol abuse will result in your stay being terminated without any refund. All our guests have to consider other people staying in the house.


Guest Property

We do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to guest property during your stay.


Termination Policy

We reserve the right to terminate your booking immediately, without being liable for any refund or compensation, if you engage in behaviour which, in our view, is unacceptable or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to other guests.



We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit/debit card for any damages incurred to your room or the house during your stay or for any items that are missing when you leave. This includes damage or staining to any of our linen or soft furnishings.


Smoking & Pets

Strictly no smoking within any part of The Captain’s Quarters. If evidence of smoking on the premises is found, the Termination Policy will apply and guests will be liable for a £100 cleaning charge.

We accept small dogs no bigger than knee level. There is a £15 charge per day. Pets should also not be left unattended in the rooms.  We can recommend restaurants that accept dogs. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in your booking being terminated with immediate effect without a refund.


Faults & Complaints

We would appreciate notification of any faults or complaints as they arise. We will try to rectify problems as soon as is practical.


When you check into the house at reception you will be asked to sign a reservation card, by signing that card you are agreeing to all of the above terms and conditions.
